CONSTRUCTION OF PIT LATRINES IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN TEMEKE DISTRICTS
We started with two schools which are Karume Primary and Kiburugwa Primary School. The goal of this project is to construct 6 pit latrine and 1 water tank in two schools in Temeke Municipal council using Eco bricks.
This project aims to address the shortage of latrine services in Kiburugwa primary school (25 pit latrines for 3200 students) and Kurume Primary School (6 pits latrines for 1200students).We are using Eco-bricks made from recycled plastic waste for construction The project runs in parallel with a campaign by educating the community on plastic pollu- tion and the mechanism of addressing the problem.
The project runs in parallel with a campaign by educating the community on plastic pollution and the mechanism of addressing the problem, In collaboration with the municipal council by engaging the community to volunteer in organizing environmental camps/environmental cham- pions where the main roles will be to advocating and campaign for plastics waste collections, particularly around the beaches, however, we are you using the camps as a form of raising awareness on Environment and plastic pollution, introducing and demonstrating our Eco bricks products.
